From the Canton Library: This was a collaborative event with the Canton High School and Galvin Middle School GSA. Speakers include: Alan Rapoport and Nicola Gallagher and Cynthia Holcombe and Sasha Martone of the CDEI committee, Sen. Paul Feeney, Rep. Bill Galvin, Kathleen Howley, a representative from the Unitarian Universalist church, and students from Canton High and Julie Beckham. It was attended by the Select Board and many town officials and citizens.

Canton's Veteran's Agent Arafat Knight brings to the podium Veterans of War and State Representatives and local select board members to honor those who served in the United States Military. Speakers include: Brigadier General Frank Labollita, John Carrington of the John Beaty Local #24, Senator Paul Feeney, Select Board Chair Thomas Theadore, CHS students and many others.

A quickly scheduled hearing called by the DA's office coming just before the long scheduled hearing of May 25th happened on Wednesday, May 24th 2023 at 10AM. The State moved to not allow the defense subpoenas of the phones of Jennifer McCabe and Brian Albert and to not allow either to testify at the May 25 hearing. Lawyers for both McCable and Albert objected to the defense's subpoenas. The State DA's office also objected. The attorneys for Karen Read said the material was evidence and material to the case, was specific in time frame, and was not a broad ''fishing expedition" as they said was characterized by the DA's office. The judge agreed with the DA's office, eliminating the need for a hearing on May 25th. The next hearing is scheduled for July 25, 2023 at 2pm. Canton Community intends to cover that hearing LIVE.

Their mission is to serve and help with the main focus on eye diseases They give local scholarships for students, help the library, food pantry, senior center, police and others. Like many clubs they are looking to revitalize and need members to help carry on this important mission.

The Open Book Coffeehouse continues its 2022-2023 season with a live, in-person concert on Saturday evening, May 20th, featuring Boston-based progressive folk duo Amber Wilds who blend sensitive instrumentals with evocative lyricism.
The coffeehouse is located at the Canton Public Library, 786 Washington Street, Canton. Doors open at 6:45 PM; music starts at 7:30 PM. Admission is $12 for the general public and $6 for students of any age. Tickets are available that evening only on a first come, first serve basis. Cash and checks are accepted.
