Tri-Town PMC Kids Ride at the Irish Cultural Center

Canton Community Tv visits the Tri-town PMC Kids ride that took place June 24th, 2023 at the Irish Cultural Center. Chas Luca gives details of the day, volunteers and riders talk about who they ride for and kids zoom past on their bikes. Money is raised for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Canton Public Library Summer Kickoff Party 2023

Canton Community Tv visits the Canton Library's front yard where activities for kids were taking place on the Lawn June 16th for the library's summer fun kick-off. CCTV's Andrea Galvin interviews Canton Library Director, Andrea Capone, kids name their favorite books, "Canton Writes" winners fill their book bags, and volunteers talk about how much fun they too are having.

Canton Council on Aging dedication to the late Betty Lethin

From the Canton Senior Center, Elder Human Services Director Diane Tynan hosts the event that honors the late Betty Lethin. She was Canton's former public health nurse, HESCO president, she helped establish the Canton Food Pantry, and was recognized by the State of Massachusetts for her contribution to the community as well as being Canton's Citizen of the year. Betty Lethin's family gives tributes.

Canton Farmer’s Market Opening Day 2023

Vendors and artisans kick-off the third Farmer's Market season in front of Canton High School. On Sundays from June 11th - Oct. 22 different vendors will be part of this growing and popular event. This is a sampling of vendors there on opening day.

From the Canton Public Library: Author Christopher Gotham

The Confidante: the Untold Story of the Woman Who Helped Win WWII and Shape Modern America by Christopher Gotham tells the story of Anna Marie Rosenberg, whose influence on American history, from the New Deal to the Cold War and beyond, has never before been told. 

Christopher Gorham holds degrees from the University of Michigan, Tufts University and Syracuse University College of Law. His writing has appeared in the Washington Post and online publications. The Confidante is his first book. He and his wife, Elizabeth, live in Watertown and Chatham, Massachusetts.

Listen to the most talented youth in Canton as they read their award winning writings

at the Canton Writes Awards Day 2023. Some are from the elementary grades

and some are from the middle school but all have written pieces that are

the best among their peers. 

 

"Canton Writes" awards were presented by the "Friends of the Library" in Canton. This "Day 2" features award winners of the very young. (Adult and High School in day 1 and is also available on podcasts.
